The ‘Perfect’ British Road Trip Has Been Revealed

According to a new study, the ‘perfect’ British road trip has been discovered. It involves singalongs, beautiful landscapes and rather exclusive passengers for company…

Making A Road Trip ‘Perfect’

A study of 2,000 drivers has revealed the nation’s idea of a perfect road trip. Conducted by Turo, the world’s leading peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace, it found that Briton’s were very particular in their tastes. They expect tunes to sing along to, country roads and David Attenborough or Stephen Fry in the backseat. Other celebrities who made the grade included the likes of James Cordon and Peter Kay. Conversely, Kim Kardashian, Russel Brand and Katie Price would have to walk; motorists would rather be without their company. No matter what company drivers have, however, a significant 56% expect to have at least one argument during the trip.

In addition to determining our preferred celebrity company, the survey discovered that three in ten of us would prefer a ‘staycation’ over going abroad. The most ideal destinations for road trips included the Cotswolds, Snowdonia, Land’s End and (unsurprisingly) the Lake District. We also seem to enjoy longer trips on the open road, with one in five of us wanting to cover more than a 1,000 miles. Three in ten would also like to travel the roads for over a week! We hope they have plenty of fuel money stashed away.

The Top Road Trip Destinations In Britain

Xavier Collins, UK director of Turo said, “we’re proud to give people the opportunity and freedom to hit the open road whether they own a car not. In the UK and abroad, drivers can take their pick from hundreds of thousands of cars to suit any kind of adventure they are going on, be it into the Scottish Highlands or taking Route 66.” He added, “those who own a Ford Mustang, Audi A3 or Land Rover Defender – which came out top in our research as the perfect road trip rides – could be earning thousands by listing them on Turo.”
